2023-2024 Program Description and Pricing at Gold’s Gym

  • Downstate National Teams

    The goal for Downstate National Teams has always been to both train and compete at the highest level possible.

    Highlights of the program include:

    • 3 practices a week.

    • 6-7 months of training, beginning the week after Thanksgiving and continuing through the Memorial Day weekend or a season ending National Championship event.

    • 2 highly trained coaches per team, many with collegiate experience and state and national championships on their resume.

    • Match statistics are tracked and recorded for every tournament.

    • All tournaments are filmed for use by the athletes during the college recruiting process and for training and review with the coaching staff.

    • 14u-17u National team players will participate two days a week in Speed and Agility training in addition to their regular three weekly practices. The training will be led by the Gold's Gym Training Staff. Training will take place either prior to or following the team’s weekday practices and will be 45 minutes in length.

    • 5-6 local tournaments (no overnight travel required).

    • 4-5 multi-day travel tournaments, such as MLK Kick-off Classic, Capitol Hill Classic, Boston Volleyball Festival, NorthEast Qualifier, East Coast Championships, and Triple Crown.

    • Teams that earn a bid will compete in a season-ending National Championship event.

    • Extensive college recruiting support with dedicated recruiting coordinators.

    7th grade: $2,799 (twice a week practice)
    8th grade: $3,599

    10th grade: $5,599 (1 flying qualifier)
    11th grade: $4,999
    12th grade: $2,999

  • Downstate Regional Teams

    For high school athletes seeking a competitive team and tournament schedule without the commitment required of a National team.

    Highlights of the program include:

    • Two practices a week.

    • 5 months of training, beginning the week after Thanksgiving and continuing through the GEVA Regional Championships at the end of April.

    • Experienced coaching staff, that has coached and/or played the game at a high level. Generally, 1 coach per team.

    • 5 local tournaments (no overnight travel).

    • 3 multi-day travel tournaments, such as Winterfest, Great Nor'Easter, Rhode Island Blast.

    • College recruiting support for juniors.

    8th-11th graders - $2,399
    Boys: $2,399 (practice & schedule varies)

  • Downstate Aspire Teams

    Downstate's Aspire program is designed for those athletes that enjoy the training, and camaraderie of team sports. These are often athletes that are seeking to make a high school team or want to improve their skills to be more of an impact player. While players are still expected at practices (and tournaments), it's a more relaxed environment than our higher-level National and Regional teams.

    Highlights of the program include:

    • Aspire Youth Academy (AYA) for 8th graders and younger. Practices will be led by top Downstate National Team coaches.

    • Two practices a week.

    • 5 months of training, beginning the week after Thanksgiving and continuing through the end of April.

    • All coaches are IMPACT certified and undergo extensive training with Downstate, as well as work with our Aspire program Technical Director.

    • 5 "Club" level local tournaments, when available for the age group.

    • The top AYA team (8th grade & younger), per grade, will have the opportunity for an overnight travel tournament.

Note 1: Teams are build based on grades and the ages listed correspond as follows:
12s-6th, 13s-7th, 14s-8th, 15s-9th, 16s-10th, 17s-11th, 18s-12th.

Note 2: For tournaments that involve an overnight stay, parents are responsible for all travel for their athlete, including booking a room in the hotels designated by the club for the length of the tournament.

Note 3: The 18s teams will play a shortened season that will end at the end of March, unless the team qualifies (or chooses) to attend a National Championship, which could extend the season.
