2023-24 Program Descriptions and Team Pricing

(for teams practicing at the Downstate Athletic Center)

  • Downstate National Teams

    The goal for Downstate National Teams has always been to both train and compete at the highest level possible.

    Highlights of the program include:

    • 3, 2 hour team practices a week..

    • 6-7 months of training, beginning the week after Thanksgiving and continuing through the Memorial Day weekend or a season ending National Championship event.

    • 1-2 highly trained coaches per team, many with collegiate experience and state and national championships on their resume.

    • Match statistics are tracked and recorded for every tournament.

    • All tournaments are filmed for use by the athletes during the college recruiting process and for training and review with the coaching staff (15s-18s)..

    • 5-6 local tournaments (no overnight travel required).

    • 5 multi-day travel tournaments, such as MLK Kick-off Classic, Capitol Hill Classic, Boston Volleyball Festival, NorthEast Qualifier, East Coast Championships, and Triple Crown.

    • The top 10th & 11th grade teams will compete in a National Championship Event. Other teams will attend Nationals, if they earn a bid.

    • Extensive college recruiting support with dedicated a recruiting coordinator.

    14-1 (8th grade): $5,999
    15-1 (9th): $6,999 (1 flying qualifier)
    15-2 (9th): $5,499
    16-1 (10th): $7,999 (2 flying + Nationals)
    16-2 (10th): $5,999
    17-1 (11th): $7,999 (2 flying + Nationals)
    17-2 (11th): $5,999
    18s (12th): $3,999

    18 Boys: $2,999 (practice & schedule varies)

  • Downstate Regional Teams

    For high school athletes seeking a competitive team and tournament schedule without the commitment required of a National team.

    Highlights of the program include:

    • Two, 2-hour practices a week.

    • 5 months of training, beginning the week after Thanksgiving and continuing through the GEVA Regional Championships at the end of April or early May.

    • Experienced coaching staff, that has coached and/or played the game at a high level. Generally, 1 coach per team.

    • 5 local tournaments (no overnight travel).

    • 3 multi-day travel tournaments, such as Winterfest, Great Nor'Easter, Rhode Island Blast.

    • College recruiting support for juniors.

    Season Pricing:

    Girls’ 13s (7th grade): $2,999
    Girls’ 14s (8th grade): $3,999 (3 practices/week)
    Girls’ 15-17 (9-11th grade): $3,499
    Boys teams (All): $2,499

  • Downstate Aspire Teams and Aspire Youth Academy Teams

    Downstate's Aspire Youth Academy (AYA) is designed to teach proper form and technique for all of the fundamental skills of the game, to younger athletes (8th grade and younger). We will have one of our Club Directors leading practices to help our youngest athletes learn the exact same skills practiced by our top National teams! Each team will have their own coach that will work under the leadership of the Technical Director for AYA.

    Highlights of the program include:

    • Aspire Youth Academy (AYA) for 8th graders and younger. Practices will be led by top Downstate National Team coaches and Directors.

    • Two, 1.5 hour practices a week.

    • 5 months of training, beginning the week after Thanksgiving and continuing through the end of April.

    • All coaches are IMPACT certified and undergo extensive training with Downstate, as well as work with our Aspire program Technical Director.

    • 3-5 "Club" level local tournaments, when available for the age group.

    • The top AYA team per grade, will have the opportunity for an overnight travel tournament.

    6th graders - $1,499
    7th graders - $1,799
    8th graders - $1,999
    9-10th graders - $2,499

Note 1: Teams are build based on grades and the ages listed correspond as follows:
12s-6th, 13s-7th, 14s-8th, 15s-9th, 16s-10th, 17s-11th, 18s-12th.

Note 2: For tournaments that involve an overnight stay, parents are responsible for all travel for their athlete, including booking a room in the hotels designated by the club for the length of the tournament.

Note 3: The 18s teams will play a shortened season that will end at the end of March, unless the team qualifies (or chooses) to attend a National Championship, which could extend the season.
