Somers Expansion!

Greetings Downstate Family,

We’re excited to announce an expansion at the Somers facility! If you’ve been to the facility during the last month, you’ll probably have noticed the construction work going on (Sorry for the mess!!!). Starting this Fall, Downstate will be taking over the facility and we’re currently in the process of building out 4 beautiful, brand-new courts at Somers!  We’ll be bringing in new flooring, painting the walls and installing new padding, and updating all of the restrooms. When completed, the facility should be an awesome, first-class location for volleyball.

As part of the expansion, we’ll be adding Regional (travel) teams that will be based out of Somers.  We’ll also be revising our practice schedule, with most Aspire teams practicing on Mondays and Wednesdays, while the Regional program will generally practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  There will be even more opportunities to participate in tournaments close to home, as we’ll be running tournaments on Saturdays and Sundays at all Downstate locations.
