COACH JACKIE was a player at Downstate her senior year at North Rockland High School in 2002. She returned as a coach with Downstate in 2012.
Coach Jackie had a stellar playing career and was one of the most prolific offensive threats in NCAA history. A three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American, she amassed 2,386 career kills which still ranks No. 14 all-time in Division I history. Jackie posted three seasons with at least 600 kills and ranked top-25 nationally in kills per game in 2003, 2004 and 2007.
Coach Jackie was a standout at St. John’s University from 2002-04. In 2003 she was the first Red Storm player to earn AVCA All-American honors and repeated the feat in 2004. Granger was also named All-BIG EAST First Team in both 2003 and 2004, as well as collecting honorable mention honors as a freshman in 2002. She finished her career at St. John’s with the most kills in school history with 1,766 in just three seasons, a mark since broken in 2015.
Granger graduated from St. John’s in 2006 with a Bachelor’s in Communication.
Jackie etched her name into the records books during her time at St. John’s University. With being the program’s first player to earn All-America Honorable Mention recognition by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, Jackie was very happy to hear she was being inducted into the 2020 Hall of Fame Class at St. John’s University this past January.
Coach Jackie is a mother to her three biggest fans. Isaiah (15 yrs old), Matthew II (12 yrs old), Avery (7 yrs old).
